How a website is madeProcess

Seven stages from the first email to care after launch. At every stage you know what we do, what we need from you and what you get at the end.

One project from start to finish. We show every stage on the example of a website for Halny, a hotel in Zakopane, Poland. It is a concept project, but the order, the timelines and what you get are exactly the same as when you work with us.

Stage 1

Brief and quote

We start with your email. We ask about your business, your customers and what the website should do for you. You get a specific quote with an itemized price and a timeline within 48 hours.

Us
We read your brief and ask about your offer, competitors and budget. We advise whether a business website, a landing page or a store fits best.
You
You tell us about your business. If there are websites you like, send them over, even from another industry.

You get: a quote with an itemized price and a timeline

Stage 2

Kickoff and schedule

The price and the dates are confirmed in writing by email, so nothing surprises you later. We agree on the order of the stages and one contact person on each side.

Us
We send the schedule of stages and a list of the materials we will need.
You
You accept the quote by email and pay a 40% deposit. You pay the rest only after you approve the finished site.

You get: the schedule and a list of materials

Stage 3

Wireframe

Before any colors appear, we lay out the skeleton of the site: what goes on each page, in what order and where it leads the visitor. A rectangle is easier to move than a finished design.

Us
We map out the pages, the content plan and the visitor’s path from arriving on the site to contacting you.
You
You check that nothing is missing and send over your copy and photos (or our copywriter writes the copy).

You get: a wireframe of every page for approval

Stage 4

Visual design

The wireframe gets colors, typefaces, photos and motion. You see every page on desktop and on a phone before we write the first line of code.

Us
We design from scratch, for your brand and your customers. We send you the design with notes that explain every decision.
You
You send your comments. Two rounds of revisions are included, and one is usually enough.

You get: a finished design for desktop and phone

Stage 5

Build

We code by hand, without heavy templates, so the site is fast and looks exactly like the design. Every week you get a link to the work-in-progress version to click through.

Us
We build the pages, animations, forms and the content editor. Every week you get a short email report on what is done.
You
You click through the work-in-progress version and tell us if you want anything changed. Usually about an hour a week.

You get: a working site on a test server

Stage 6

Testing and launch

We test the site on phones, tablets and different browsers, set up SEO, and only then publish it at your address.

Us
We test the forms and the speed, and connect the domain, the SSL certificate and Google Search Console.
You
You approve the finished site and pay the remaining 60%. Then we press “publish”.

You get: the site online, all logins and full rights to the code

Stage 7

After launch

We do not disappear after launch. For 30 days we fix small things at no extra cost, and if you like, we keep looking after the site with a care plan.

Us
We send you a short guide to editing the content, take care of updates and backups, and answer your questions by email.
You
You collect inquiries from customers. When something needs changing, you email us or change it yourself in the editor.

You get: 30 days of fixes and an editing guide, care plan optional

What to prepare before you write to us

Nothing on this list is required. The more you have, the faster we start.

The goal of the site

What should happen when a customer visits? A call, an inquiry, a booking, a purchase.

Websites you like

Two or three, even from another industry. We will quickly get a feel for your taste.

Logo and photos

If you have them. If not, we will design a logo and pick photos.

A rough budget

It does not need to be exact. It helps us choose a solution without overpaying.

Let’s start with an email.

The first step costs nothing. Describe your project and we will reply within one business day.
